Run, Kamala Run

American made since 1964, the darling of Oakland

She stands now, on the precipice of history.

How dare you attempt to be the first woman, of the melanin-ation to assume the mantle?

Run like Usain going for the gold, or Jesse in the Nazi’s home

Run for women who want control of their destinies, lives, and wombs

Run as hard as a tornado and knock down all barriers before you

Run, Kamala run

You are not just the pride of America; you are Jamaica’s and India’s, too

We’re here to lift you up, so when you feel like giving up, you can lean on me, lean on us!

Please don’t listen to voices that discourage you; hear only our cheers at the finish line

We got you, and you’ve got this, run your race

Run like America’s very future depends on it and the very democracy on which it was built

Run for the doubters, disbelievers, and haters who try to dim the light of your star

Run because Queen Ramonda said, “Show them who you are!”

Run, Kamala run

Who can stop you, who would even dare to try…?

The train is already out of the station; the genie has left her bottle

You’ve already proven yourself to be worthy of the presidency

Run for those who believe you lack because you are Jamaican, Indian, and Black

Run for mind over matter because you don’t mind because the racist bigots don’t matter

Run because we need hope and change again

Run, Kamala run

The audacity of you to claim positions that are afforded only to those of the upper echelon

Hey Kamala, don’t just challenge that idea; girl, go above and beyond

Bless this country with the opportunity to succeed and thrive with a female president

Run for Shirley to make her dreams come true and for Hilary to redeem her aspirations too

Run for the little girls watching, hoping to be the next one to live this same dream

Run because a woman’s place is at the seat of power, creating fair shakes for those underserved

Run, Kamala run

Save this country from fascism and crooked, corrupt politicians

Make America a place for all to be heard and given representation

We’re energized, we’re mobilized, and determined to follow you all the way to the White House

Run to exemplify your ability

Run for the chance to lead

Run because when we fight, we win!

Run, Kamala run

This just one more obstacle for you to move

You’ve got Joe’s blessing, he’s given you the assist, because even he knows you can do this

This is your time, and this is the place again, Kamala, again, run your race!

Run to go where no other woman has been allowed

Run for the dismantling of all glass ceilings, so that once and for all the sky’s the limit

Run because the dream can no longer be deterred

Run, Kamala run

Do not suffer fools and their foolish notions

That up is down, and criminals are ordained

Wear your bright smile despite the dullness of their ignorance

Run for all those considered low class and untouchable

Run to make their lives matter too

Run because, through your voice, everyone is heard, so…

Run, Kamala run

This is a race for the very heart of our land and everyone in it

Show them what it is to be divine and authentic

Make them understand that to be truly righteous, one must first be true

Run for the proponents of truth and for all-inclusive leadership

Run to educate false prophets who are nothing more than propagators of hate

Run because we need unity and not the same ole sycophants spouting lies and half truths

Run, Kamala run

Stand as tall as the mighty Bear, strong and unyielding

Be as powerful as the formidable Bison, peaceful but willing to strike all enemies

Let all those who come for you, know you’re battled tested, AKA a warrior

Run to lead our mighty country

Run for the masses who are hungry for equality

Run because the people have seen the worst, and we won’t go back

Run, Kamala run

America is the land of opportunity

Now it’s your turn to make those words a reality

Herald in a new American dream, possibility for all

Run to demonstrate your political competency

Run for the empowerment of women who dare to dream

Run because it’s way past time that a woman lead our great country

Run Kamala Run

Shed light on those who speak in whispers of your demise

Put them on Front Street for all to see you as you turn their words into your victory

You didn’t come to play; because you’re here to run all the way to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue

Run to let them know that they are all just 2% slick and 98% dead wrong

Run for the opportunity, with surgical precision, to put them in their place

Run because if they’ve got something say; then they can say it to your face!

Run, Kamala run

Run, Kamala run

Run, Kamala run

Run to be our 47th president
